Biografía

Carlos Sebastiá, who holds a degree in Fine Arts from the Polytechnic University of Valencia and a Master of Fine Arts from the University of London, has been developing an autobiographical body of work in constant evolution for over fifteen years. His practice is conceived in relation to the role of forgetting as a distorting element, understanding identity as the solidification of an instant or a state of permanence, and demonstrating how our mind generates spaces where the oneiric blends with the subjectivisation of reality to produce a new state of things.
The artist is distinguished by an extensive international trajectory in countries such as Austria, Turkey, Germany and the United Kingdom through various institutional grants, and even in China, where he was awarded an artist residency in the city of Shanghai by the Institute of Cultural and Creative Industry (ICCI), in collaboration with The International Art and Culture Group (TIAC). His work is also included in the collections of DKV, Juan José Castellano Comenge, and in the permanent collection of the Polytechnic University of Valencia.
