Biografía

Willy Ramos is a painter, sculptor, printmaker and ceramicist born in Colombia in 1954. At the age of fourteen he left his native village of Pueblo Bello in Colombia for the city of Valencia in Spain, where he currently resides.

There he acquired his degree in Bellas Artes (Fine Art) at the Escuela de Bellas Artes of San Carlos. He later completed his studies with a course in the Escuela de Pintura Mural Contemporánea (School of Contemporary Mural Painting) in San Cugat del Vallés, in Barcelona, and then in Etching and Lithography in the Institute Statale D'Arte de Urbino, in Italy. He later obtained the title of 'Doctor Cum Laude' at the Polytechnic University of Valencia, and is currently a professor there of Fine Art.

Ramos has exposed his works in more than two hundred individual and collective exhibitions in galleries in Spain, U.S.A, Canada, Colombia, Italy, Germany and Ireland as well as other countries.

Displayed works can be seen in the Museum Salvador Allende de Chile, Museum Valledupar of Colombia, the collection of Banco de la Republica of Bogotá and in the collection of the University Nacional Autónoma of Mexico D.F. As well as in the collections of the Caja Rural of Murcia, Caja Murcia, Foundation Cultural de la CAM, foundation of Arte L'Oreal, Foundation Bancaja, Ministry of Economia y Hacienda, Foundation Cubiertas y Mzov and among other museums and prestigious collections.

He has also been exposed and represented in various international art fares such as ARCO, ARTBO, Art Toronto, Pinta Londres, ART Miami, Art Madrid, Toulouse, Marbella, Milan, Parma among others.

Willy paints his ideas through the wonder of nature, and does it with the use of vibrant colours, whether it be oil, watercolour, graphite or charcoal.
